Grand Royal Matron 2007-2008

Thank you for the privilege of serving the Grand Court of Florida. Let me tell you a little about myself.

I joined the Order of Rainbow for Girls when I was 13 years old and served as Worthy Advisor in 1960. While serving as Installing Officer, I met my husband-to-be, Bert. We have both been active in Masonry and its related organizations ever since.

We joined Amaranth in 1989. I served Acacia Court No. 10 in Jacksonville, Florida as Royal Matron in 1992 and again in 2000. I have been honored to serve the Grand Court of Florida as Deputy Grand Royal Matron, Assistant Grand Lecturer, Grand Truth, Grand Marshal, Grand Page, and Grand Representative to Maine. I have also served on the Addresses and Distribution Committee, Necrology (twice), was Grand Choir Director, served on the Amaranth Benevolent Fund Board for five years and the Promotion of New Courts Committee.

I am a member and Past Worthy Matron (1989) of Wesconnett Chapter No. 247, O.E.S. and a Past Worthy High Priestess (1983) of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Our Group of Florida Royal Matrons and Royal Patrons are known as the "Caretakers" and together we pledge to work for the advancement of the Order of the Amaranth. As Grand Royal Matron I will strive to maintain its dignity, increase membership and work to better fraternal relations with all our Masonic brothers and the Appendant and Allied orders and their members.
